Other relevant research skills
During the past 7 years of my research, I have gathered significant experience in handling, operation and
maintenance of precipitation measuring instruments such as radiometer, radar, disdrometer, optical rain gauge,
electric field mill and lightning detectors. Apart from this, I also have a sound knowledge in MATLAB and am
conversant with a lot of data handling applications such as neural networks, multi-variant regression analysis,
principal components and empirical mode decompositions. After my PhD, my current field of research involves the
launching and operation of daily GPS radiosondes, whose profiles are utilized for short and long term investigation
of thunderstorm severity over the tropical Indian region.
